Polka Dot Events was recently featured in The "Your Money" section of the Daily News in an article about young entrepreneurs! I was so surprised/ Embarrassed about the GIANT picture of my face as the cover page, but I guess it's pretty cool to see yourself like that at the same time! My clients Liz and James were married on September 6th 2008, which was actually the day of Hurricane Hannah in NYC. However the ain was no match for Liz and James wedding and you can see in the pictures below how truely elegant the night was.The ceremony took place at St. Borromeo Church in Brooklyn and the reception was held at Long Island City's The Foundry. Cocktail hour was held inside the very industrial space, dinner was held outside in the large tent, and dancing and dessert back inside. The amazing food was catered by Diane Gordon of Entertaining Ideas Catering . All of these gorgeous ......

As promised, here at the additional photos from Lauren and Torrey's loft wedding at Penthouse 15. All pictures are taken by Tiffany Atlas of Atlas Wedding Photography who I would highly recommend to be your next photographer! How great are these programs made by the Bride and Groom? You can't see it here but we were about 3 minutes away from the rain POURING at this point. Just made it! Escort cards in the wheat grass. I hope you are catching onto the theme by now!! I did a wedding in September at Penthouse 15, a great loft space in midtown with a rooftop. Lauren and Torrey were such a great couple to work with from day one because they were so hands on, creative, and really did everything together as a couple. It's nice to see a really involved groom once in awhile! Here are some pictures taken by their friend Erin Gleeson at EVWedding s .Stay tuned for more pictures taken by photographer Tiffany Atlas. Lauren and Torrey made these programs themselves. It set the tone for their wheat grass theme throughout the event More to come soon!......

So I wanted to post some pictures of new designs that just came out from one of my favorite west coast stationery companies, Delphine Press. I have been in contact with the founder Erika for over a year now and she is not only talented and makes some really modern but simple designs but is really easy to talk to/work with as well. Check out some new editions to the Delphine Collection:

One of my favorite perks as an event planner is I am always finding and being sent new websites that make it convenient for me to order and find products for my clients and their events right through the Internet.

Although I am a lover of custom invitations produced through consultations, many budgets can not always allow for this process and I therefore recommend looking for deals through the Internet. Here are some of the websites I often browse through for event stationery. The products can often be customized in terms of color and typography and you should ALWAYS order a sample before you order your invites in bulk (can you imagine having 100 invitations in orange when you thought they were chocolate brown?)

www.etsy.com A great website for all things handmade. There are so many cool designers here who do great stationery for even better prices.

www.whiteaisle.comThe invites on here are great if you are looking for a very simple letterpress invite. These invites would look great if you bought special envelopes to add more.

www.minted.com Minted has some great collections from popular stationers and its Coming Soon list looks promising (CECI New York!)

www.weddingpaperdivas.com More modern, cute, and fun invites for great prices.

www.Invitesite.com Order Do-It-Yourself invites. This is one of my favorites, it has very unique designs that are hard to find.

Also, if you have a great design talent and know how to work Adobe Illustrator, why not design your own and get them printed at a print shop?

See you tomorrow for color palette Wednesday…

A Save the Date from Wedding Paper Divas, i like the colors (obviously). It would look great letterpressed.
