Polka Dot Events was recently featured in The "Your Money" section of the Daily News in an article about young entrepreneurs! I was so surprised/ Embarrassed about the GIANT picture of my face as the cover page, but I guess it's pretty cool to see yourself like that at the same time! My clients Liz and James were married on September 6th 2008, which was actually the day of Hurricane Hannah in NYC. However the ain was no match for Liz and James wedding and you can see in the pictures below how truely elegant the night was.The ceremony took place at St. Borromeo Church in Brooklyn and the reception was held at Long Island City's The Foundry. Cocktail hour was held inside the very industrial space, dinner was held outside in the large tent, and dancing and dessert back inside. The amazing food was catered by Diane Gordon of Entertaining Ideas Catering . All of these gorgeous ......

I did a wedding in September at Penthouse 15, a great loft space in midtown with a rooftop. Lauren and Torrey were such a great couple to work with from day one because they were so hands on, creative, and really did everything together as a couple. It's nice to see a really involved groom once in awhile! Here are some pictures taken by their friend Erin Gleeson at EVWedding s .Stay tuned for more pictures taken by photographer Tiffany Atlas. Lauren and Torrey made these programs themselves. It set the tone for their wheat grass theme throughout the event More to come soon!......

My favorite detail of the event. Lauren and Torrey took their dog around central park and put different numbers on his neck and took pictures. They used the pictures as table numbers for the reception. So cute!

Hello Polka Dotters! (I know it’s corny… my only excuse is I went to summer camp for 10 years)

I apologize for not making a Tuesday post… I was busy all day with my clients who flew in from Pittsburgh. We have finally picked a venue for their wedding! The Liberty House, check it out. Being in Jersey City, TLH has awesome views of the downtown Manhattan skyline, and is very well managed and maintained (no ugly catering hall carpets here THANK GOODNESS!)

GUESS WHAT? Today is COLOR PALETTE WEDNESDAY!!! I was going to go with a navy blue as I am currently brainstorming for a client, but I decided in respect to March and St. Patrick’s Day… this week had to be dedicated to my favorite color: GREEN! I am not a fan of the kelly green seen in St. Patrick’s day, I tend to like more earth tones. Here are some great centerpieces, designs, inspirations, and details that will make you GREEN with envy. Again with the corniness! Sadly, I am even worse in person…..

Love this table setting from Party Rental LTD. The table looks like it belongs in the middle of a forest. I would love to see a more “natural” napkin holder.

Perfect complements to greens: Whites, browns, and pale yellows.

Keep your eye’s out for an upcoming entry on Green Weddings
